Ossining DPW
Nexus Creative partnered with a national developer to explore feasibility concepts towards developing a comprehensive master plan for a challenging site in the village of Ossining. The site is bisected by Sing Sing Kill Brook in conjunction with dramatic ravine like topography.
Strategically located in the waterfront district, the site provides Hudson River views and a 3 minute walk to the train station. The location presented opportunities to solve many pedestrian ‘Connectivity’ challenges between the waterfront and central business.
Our design concept integrated existing recreation trails most notably providing linkage from the existing pedestrian path/ causeway through the master plan and into the waterfront district. Bold planning ideas captured and ‘Day Lighted’ the brook as an organizing linear park feature for which broad pedestrian building arcades lined one edge.
